Scanning QR codes on your iPad is a lot easier than it used to be. Apple now has a QR code reader built right into the iPad’s camera. You no longer need to install a separate QR Reader app. Phew!
First open the camera app on your iPad. This can be done through Settings, by tapping the Camera icon, or through the Control Center.
Next, point the camera at the QR code. There’s no need to click the camera’s shutter button. Your iPad will automatically recognize the QR code and show you an on-screen notification. Make sure you have a strong cell signal or are connected to WiFi. Otherwise the scanner and notification might not work.
Before scanning a QR code, make sure the code comes from a trustworthy source. Codes found on product labels are usually safe but not always. Do not scan a QR code if you have any question over its authenticity. The code could link to a fraudulent website, hijack your personal and financial information, or inject malware into your phone.
